THE CONTEST - 10 RANDOM WORDS
Alright, so the idea behind this contest is pretty straight forward. Basically I've made a list of 100 Randoms Words (things, animals, foods, yadda yadda...) which is posted below. I will use a random number generator (this one to be exact [link]) to pick 10 words which you will use to create an image or written piece! How you decide to work all ten things into your piece is up to you, be as creative as possible! Some words may have double meanings feel free to use which ever meaning you want. I'm pretty excited about this theme, I can just imagine how different every entry will be. Like the Fairy Tale Contest I've done my best to have a decent variety of words, can't guaranty what the random number generator will turn up but that's part of the fun right!

It's meant to be a bit of a challenge, test of your creativity, but mostly just for something fun and different from what you'd normally be drawing! :3

THE JUDGING
I will be judging this contest. If there is anyone who would like to help me judge (particularly on written entries) please feel free to send me a note :3 You should be able to express yourself in a mature manner and be able to judge an artwork based on it's strengths and weaknesses and give an honest critique of the work. Judges however will not be allowed to compete for prizes, though you could still make something based on the contest theme.

What I'll be looking for when judging:
Finished Pieces -  Your final piece (the version you enter) should be a finished product with colour or shaded in black and white. Basically I'm hoping for more than just a lineart or a sketch. Backgrounds, or something to suggest background elements will add significantly to your work.
Technique - The quality should not be something that is rushed. Of course I'll also be looking for an interesting use of colour, composition and style. Well thought out feeling, mood and atmosphere to the artwork will also make the work more impressive.
Creativity - A big one for this contest! How did you work these 10 words into your piece? A unique idea is what I'm most interested in seeing, don't take the words at face value and just slap everything into a picture haphazardly. Try to create a piece that flows, don't get stuck on what the words you got are - think outside of the box! Maybe you can work them in a different way? I hope to see that you felt inspired and confident in what you'd created.


THE RULES
1. The art must be your own work, and it must be new work created for this contest.
2. The finished piece must be posted on DeviantART. In the 'artist's comment' section you should state the 10 words you were given. It is optional but I would appreciate it if you could link back to this journal in the 'Artist's Comment' section to help promote this contest!
3. You may use your original characters (and/or another DA artist's, with their permission) in the image if you like. You can use characters from games, books, movies, etc if you like, but you should credit the original creators/copyright owners. Though I would prefer to see original characters (who wouldn't?!).
4. Traditional and/or digital drawings/paintings as well as written works will be allowed for this contest. (No photomanip or crafts however, sorry!)
5. You may submit up to three entries.
6. Be creative, have fun and make awesome art!

Sorry for the delay in posting this I chipped a tooth on Easter (on a piece of bread of all things haha) and since I don't have a dentist or insurance until like August I wanted to make sure I had enough money to cover that and still have a decent set of prizes for the contest before I posted this. I think everything'll be good so here she is!

Other news I'm still on the waiting list for Anime North, three cancelations and I'll have a table but it's not looking very likely probably for the better since I'm not prepared at all lol. A friend of mine got 2 tables at Otakon though and is kindly sharing with me and two others so looks like I'll be attending Otakon again! Guess I better get cracking on stuff.

Also, I've decided to axe my other DA account and post my fashion design stuff on this account so expect to see some fishy fashions soon!
